Periferry Symposium Aims
- To debate issues of borders, identity and cross fertilisation of ideas in Assam and south east Asia, relating to the Brahmaputra River, and explore historical, artistic and economic connections with the River Thames and London.
- To reinforce links between Periferry and partners in India, with Difference Exchange and Partners in the UK to develop collaborative, practice-led projects and artist placements
- To establish a network of partners to support the project in Assam and the region
- To establish a long-list of potential participating artists, media and other practitioners
- To provide a sound basis for development of future projects and a platform for fund raising for these projects
